Artis units are ideal for use in leisure centres, schools and hotel swimming pool areas. They are designed to delivery on the most important needs of the swimming pool operator, namely;

The fresh air needs in a swimming pool hall varies throughout the day.
Artis units provide fresh air levels that adapt as the day evolves and can be either fully automatic or set by the pool owner.
The avoidance of condensation in the swimming pool hall is of paramount importance in order to protect the buildings’ structure. This requires maintaining the humidity at a level which prevents excessive evaporation from the pool whilst maintaining bathers comfort. Allowing the humidity to rise with the increase in ambient temperature keeps the
fresh air requirements to a minimum and keeps running costs down. In addition, the Artis unit varies the humidity of the building as the outside temperature changes.

Throughout a typical day swimming pool halls require variable levels of fresh air, heating and dehumidifying. The outside atmosphere also varies throughout the day and time of year.
Recotherm’s Artis AHU will automatically:
- Vary the amount of fresh air going into the pool
- Adjust the temperature of the air going into the pool
- Recover most of the heat going out from the pool
- Remove the required amount of moisture from the pool
Bespoke Units
In addition to the standard range of units, Recotherm offer a bespoke design service. Units are designed to meet the specific requirement of the site; this may simply involve redistributing components to suit a particular plant room or adding additional capabilities.
Pelican Centre Case Study
Recotherm were asked to design a unit within specific dimensional restrictions to allow the installation of silencers. It also had to straddle the existing 150mm high concrete upstands.
We designed a unit using 4 fans to reduce the length and incorporated a 550mm baseframe which reduced down to 400mm over the concrete upstands. This allowed the contractor to install the silencers and ensured that the new unit not only worked perfectly but looked good in the plant room.
